Kharvos is Thamrielle's god. Thalion asked Isandriel whether he could kill Kharvos without killing Thamrielle. Isandriel had never tried this, but considered attempting it.
Kharvos is a god who bonded with Thamrielle through a lava shard. He guided her search for the Source in the Plains of Eternity and encouraged her hope of restoring Barachiel.
Magic
Kharvos spoke to Thamrielle through the shard and sensed other gods in the God Realm. He urged her to draw fully on his power when she descended into the lake beneath Zarephon.
History
During the expedition to the plains, an unfamiliar being approached Kharvos and told him how Thamrielle could obtain the Source while Abraxas was occupied. Kharvos made a deal with it, but he and Thamrielle intended to keep what she found rather than deliver it to the chosen. He directed her toward the river's head and the mountains beyond it.
Thamrielle reached Zarephon and recovered an essence core from the bottom of a deep lake, mistaking it for the Source. Kharvos could not understand the strange inscriptions around it or explain its power. He supported concealing the object from most of the expedition, fearing that others would use it before they could control it.
As Thamrielle became increasingly unable to relinquish the core, Kharvos stopped speaking with Tal'Massar. Thamrielle said he had told her that Barachiel could be brought back. Isandriel tried to make him intervene, but Kharvos did not answer.
Thamrielle fought Isandriel, severing her own arm to keep him from reaching Kharvos's shard. She continued protecting the shard even after her body was broken. Before Isandriel could unmake them, Abraxas appeared, took the core and destroyed Thamrielle. Abraxas later explained that the core had been planted so its finder would lead him to Thalion.
Relationships
- Thamrielle: His former wielder. Kharvos rarely spoke to anyone else, and she trusted him to guide her search for the Source.
- Tal'Massar: Another god who tried to reach him when Thamrielle would not surrender the core. Tal'Massar suspected that Kharvos was manipulating her, without knowing his purpose.
Kharvos and Pyragos are former names of Renneth.
