Overview
Ebon wraiths are ghostly darkness creatures that create mental illusions when darkness creatures overrun settlements. They appear around villages, city gates, and the borders of the Land of Darkness, often behind umbral stalkers and near stronger entities such as harbingers.
Form and Abilities
Ebon wraiths are spectral, mist-like beings with ghostly outlines and too-human silhouettes. They drift or hover behind umbral stalkers while darkness creatures move through threatened settlements. Their illusions pull on personal vulnerabilities. During the defense of Dravemir, one shows Aurion an image of Therion.
They can be destroyed by overwhelming magic. Thalion disintegrates ebon wraiths and umbral stalkers with golden lightning to protect a village, Kaelion pierces one at Velundra's southern gates with a sun-forged spear, and Aurion shatters or dissolves swarms with cosmic barriers and meteor fire.
Origin and Encounters
After the atraxi redirected a river and built a dam, hundreds of people died and became ebon wraiths.
Ebon wraiths chase villagers through farmlands with umbral stalkers, gather near Velundra when darkness presses close to the southern gates, and join the hordes attacking Dravemir and nearby villages from the Land of Darkness.
