Overview
Cloudrift Temple is a mountain temple in Thundermarch within the storm-god tradition of Tianlei. Jin Leiyun trains there under Master Han, studies the dragon arts, and spends his youth among students such as Zhang before becoming Tianlei's wielder.
Layout
The temple sits high in Thundermarch's mountains, nested within cliff faces above the plains. Its halls have stone corridors and storm-carved pillars worn smooth by wind and rain, and its sparring arena lies farther into the mountains in a wide space ringed by high cliffs.
The temple's trial routes lead through severe mountain terrain. Jin's first trial sends him to gather snow from the highest peak above the temple, and his next trial takes him through the northern gate toward a cave passage with glowing crystalline stones and a dangerous fork in the tunnels.
Training
Cloudrift Temple trains disciples through lessons, study, sparring, and dangerous graduation trials. Its dragon arts train fire, lightning, air, and related elemental disciplines under Tianlei's storm-god tradition. Master Han teaches the students about Thundermarch's past and cities, evaluates Jin and Zhang's progress, and gives Jin extra physical training as Stormbrook faces the darkness and news of an attack near Cloudrift reaches the temple during Jin's trials.
Keldaran Visit
During a trial, Jin encounters Khoradyn's Keldaran group in the mountain caves and guides them back to the temple. The visitors live there for months, joining the temple's routines and training. Khoradyn is stronger than the temple's masters and begins teaching students. Rhalyn overwhelms students and masters alike in close-combat duels with divine enchantments.
After Stormbrook is destroyed, Jin asks Khoradyn to train him, and Kren and Rhalyn eventually add their own lessons. Most of the Keldarans later depart with Zhang, a temple master, and several students to help restore peace in Thundermarch and neighboring regions. Rhalyn remains with Jin for a time before they descend from the mountains toward Cloudrift and Stormpeak.
