Argylon is the home star system of the Spiral Mandate, within the Hyperion Spiral. Mandora is its main world and the Mandate's capital. The system lies mostly north of Valrindor, slightly to the east.
Worlds and infrastructure
Argylon's star is a late-G sun surrounded by smaller energy collectors. The system contains research stations and orbital ports for large vessels, with a satellite network around Mandora.
Its other inhabited worlds are Helix Zero, a large ocean planet used for military training, and Palladion, a cold fortress world with maintained breathable zones and underground settlements. Argylon-IV is a gas giant beyond Palladion, while Argylon-V is a remote ice giant.
Thalena's account
In Thalena's Shores of Eternity, directives from the Upper Mandate stopped after the Maraveth Core was destroyed, and an uprising broke out on Mandora. The politicians had followed orders attributed to future leaders. Thalena and Alistair listened to archived communications from the core in Isandro's voice, including an offer to let the Mandate fire directly on the palace.
