Overview
The Hyperion Spiral is the galaxy containing the Malverand Intergalactic Empire, the Spiral Mandate, the ruined Atraxis system, and Earth. Restricted-contact worlds and non-Malverand governments exist beyond the empire's seven systems. The empire has mapped distant galaxies. Its practical power stays inside a small region of the Hyperion Spiral. Valrindor is the empire's capital world and operating base.
The Malverand Intergalactic Empire fully controls seven systems. Other systems and governments exist beyond those imperial holdings. Earth is beyond imperial control under Malverand non-interference policy.
The Spiral Mandate also inhabits the Hyperion Spiral and attacks the Proxion system.
Hyperion in Imperial Usage
Imperial usage names the galaxy the Hyperion Spiral and also applies Hyperion to the Hyperion system and Hyperion Academies. Thalena was born Helena Hyperion through Ozaith, so the recurrence draws her attention. Callisto, Amalthea, and Oberon are names of imperial systems and Ozaith's children.
Imperial Systems
Valrindor is the imperial homeworld. Vireen orbits in Valrindor's system and preserves ancient Malverand expedition ruins. Corthis is the system's uninhabitable inner planet. Maraveth, Chronasis, Zarephon, and Zeydrith stand on Valrindor.
The Hyperion system contains a huge orange-red sun, Meridian, Novaris, and Vespera. Meridian is the system's main planet and a Kytherite source. Novaris is the capital city of the empire in the system and surrounding lands. Vespera is a hostile, essence-rich planet that the empire studies from a safe distance.
The Proxion system contains Alecton and Draxil. During the Spiral Mandate attack on Proxion, the empire evacuates every planet in the system. Alecton is one of the evacuation sites visited by Isandro, and Draxil holds rich Kytherite deposits.
The Tyrren system contains Tyrren-IX, a settled imperial world. Callisto, Oberon, and Amalthea are imperial systems in the Hyperion Spiral.
Other Charted Places
Earth is distant from the main imperial worlds and lies beyond imperial control. The Malverand Empire forbids contact except for approved covert research. Ships need core guidance to reach it.
The Atraxis system is the ruined origin system of the ancient atraxi. The Proxion system is the closest imperial system to those ruins. Atraxis Prime Omega is a separate Atraxis Prime destination with surviving atraxi gate infrastructure inside the Malverand Intergalactic Empire.
History
Thalena studies imperial holographic maps with Amos as the Hyperion Spiral name recurs across the galaxy, the Hyperion system, and Hyperion Academies. Hyperion is rare in Thalena's Valrindor. The Malverand Intergalactic Empire uses it for systems and institutions.
Later, Isandro displays Valrindor, Vireen, Corthis, the Hyperion system, Proxion, and the Tyrren system on a bridge projection. He then expands the projection into the Hyperion Spiral and mapped galaxies beyond it. Malverand's research extends beyond the Hyperion Spiral. Its practical reach remains limited.
After the Spiral Mandate attacks Proxion, imperial defense work shifts toward Proxion's evacuation, communications, ship navigation, and weapon research. The Maraveth Core directs communications, tracks and steers official ships, handles navigation, routes evacuation traffic, and supplies processing power for weapon research. Proxion's evacuation and the empire's operating systems depend on the core.
