Aqura are enormous, sleek river fish used by the Tenari as mounts and to tow boats in Thalcoris. They swim in the broad river along the route from Tequaltor to Xalatun. Riders hold harnesses fastened around their dorsal fins while the fish pull long, narrow boats through the current.
Aqura glide smoothly, accelerate in sudden bursts and leap across the water's surface. The fish ridden by Eira and Lythariel had a wide, scaled body, a broad forehead and black eyes. It carried both women during the Tenari march toward Xalatun. They slowed it to a gentle drift and guided it to the opposite bank when they left the army to explore.
