Overview

Orange-and-white striped bugs are oversized insects that live in the flowered regions of the Plains of Eternity, including the lands near Lake Eternity and the approach to the source. Large Plains bugs also include orange-and-black fluff-covered insects, massive white-and-orange-striped insects, and gigantic red-and-white-striped insects.

Description and Behavior

The bugs live around the Plains' giant flowers. They rest on enormous blooms, hover near grasses, zip from flower to flower, and sometimes pursue Moving Blue Flowers, which attract bugs. Plains bugs can grow as large as Isandriel, and at least one orange-and-black insect advances toward an army before a mage's fire drives it back with a hiss.

During a Rahmavir march through the Plains toward Zarephon, the chosen encounter a swarm of gigantic red-and-white-striped bugs. They kill the swarm and cook the insects for food; the cooked meat is unexpectedly tender and delicious.
